Mount Washington Wedding at Raven Lodge
Annika and Luke's Summer Celebration on Mount Washington
If you’re looking for a wedding location with unreal views and zero fuss, Annika and Luke’s July wedding on Mount Washington is a perfect example of why this spot is such a gem. It’s a ski resort in the winter, a mountain biking hub in the summer, and an awesome place to get married any time of the year!
Mountaintop Portraits
Before the ceremony, we hopped on the chairlift and headed up to the very top of Mount Washington for portraits. Taking photos above the tree line felt calm, quiet, and a little surreal in the best way. With just the three of us up there, it was the perfect way for Annika and Luke to take a deep breath and soak it in before the busy day began.
An Outdoor Ceremony with Peak Views
Their wedding ceremony took place outside Raven Lodge at Mount Washington with a full mountain backdrop. Think big skies, rolling peaks, and happy guests soaking up the views. It was exactly the kind of outdoor wedding Mount Washington does so well. The ceremony site is private with beautiful benches and an accessible, paved pathway. To keep things simple, we took family portraits in the same area afterwards!
Reception at Raven Lodge
Afterward, everyone headed inside the Raven Lodge for the reception. It’s cozy, bright, and the perfect mix of rustic and modern, ideal for a Vancouver Island mountain wedding. The energy in the room was relaxed, cheerful, and full of that “we’re ready to celebrate now” vibe.
Quick and Gorgeous Sunset Photos
When the sun started to dip, we stepped just outside the lodge for sunset portraits. I like to keep sunset photos simple and quick when possible so couples don’t miss much of their reception. Thankfully, the view right beside the Raven Lodge is beautiful enough that we didn’t have to wander far at all. Five minutes, a bit of golden light, and we were done.
Why I love Mount Washington
Annika and Luke’s day had everything I love photographing on Vancouver Island: great people, a stunning but easygoing location, and a whole lot of joy. Mount Washington is one of those wedding venues where you don’t have to try too hard because the scenery does half the work, and the rest is just documenting the fun!
