3 Stunning Tofino and Ucluelet Wedding Venues

Planning a Tofino or Ucluelet wedding? Wind-swept beaches, towering rainforest, rugged coastline, and that golden Pacific light; it’s such a dreamy place to get married. As a Vancouver Island wedding photographer who has captured countless celebrations here, I’ve photographed weddings big and small in Tofino and Ukee.

Here are three of my favourite Tofino/Ucluelet wedding venues:

1. Pacific Sands Beach Resort

An intimate oceanfront & rainforest dream

If you’re dreaming of a barefoot-on-the-beach ceremony paired with an intimate, relaxed reception, Pacific Sands offers the best of both worlds.

I photographed Courtney and Rob’s wedding here, and it remains one of my favourite examples of what makes this venue so magical. Their ceremony took place right on the sandy beach, in a private corner tucked away from the crowds. Afterwards, they hosted a tented reception in the rainforest right on the resort grounds. The rainforest tent gave everyone the cozy feeling of being surrounded by nature. Pacific Sands has an option for a tent near the beach as well.

Fair warning: you might get photobombed by some surfers or dogs!

Why couples love Pacific Sands:

  • Ceremony options right on the beach
  • On-site accommodation for guests
  • Private rainforest tent for intimate receptions
  • Incredible sunset light!
  • Easy access for portraits (beach and forest)

Why I love photographing this venue:

The variety. Within minutes you can go from dramatic beach views to lush forest tones, giving you a gallery full of texture, depth, and colour. I also love a venue that allows guests to stay on-site. Logistically, it makes things easy for your guests. But it’s also a great way to stretch the party across a whole weekend instead of one day!

2. The Shore Pier Event Space

Tofino's downtown wedding venue for larger events

The Shore Pier, located right in downtown Tofino, is perfect for couples who want a modern waterfront setting that can comfortably host larger groups. It blends gorgeous coastal views with convenience; your guests can explore the CUTEST shops, cafes, and the waterfront views without needing to travel far.

I photographed Katherine and Cody’s wedding at The Shore Pier in August. It’s a new favourite venue of mine! The space is huge, so their guests had room to mingle. Their ceremony took place on the covered patio and the reception was inside, so everything was onsite. The view from the docks provided a dramatic backdrop for portraits, and the marina lighting created an incredible atmosphere after sunset.

Why couples love The Shore Pier:

  • Accommodates bigger guest lists

  • Waterfront views with a more urban Tofino vibe

  • Accessible for guests of all ages

  • Great for receptions that go late

Why I love photographing this venue:

The light! This building is covered in huge windows with beautiful views. It’s a bright, airy, open space and you can make it your own with decor.

3. The Black Rock Oceanfront Resort

A gem in Ucluelet that's perfect for weddings of all sizes

The Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet is one of my most-photographed venues, and for good reason. Its dramatic black rock coastline, sweeping ocean views, floor-to-ceiling windows, and storm-watching vibe make it one of the most iconic wedding locations on the West Coast.

Whether you’re planning a small elopement or a 100-person celebration, Black Rock can accommodate it beautifully. There’s a larger ballroom for bigger weddings, but I think this venue really shines for the intimate gatherings with the Wine Cellar room. It looks like it’s built right into the rock, and the windows provide a close-up view of the crashing waves.

Why couples love The Black Rock:

  • Can host small elopements and large weddings
  • Iconic rocky coastline perfect in every season
  • Stormy weather = dramatic, moody photos
  • Luxurious suites & guest experience
  • Indoor ceremony options with ocean views (great for unpredictable weather)
  •

Why I love photographing this venue:

The mood, inside and out. Even when it rains, the atmosphere is breathtaking: mist rolling over the ocean, waves crashing below, and the dramatic cliffs creating cinematic photos every time. That moody vibe is carried indoors as well, especially in the Wine Cellar room. You can lean into it for a cozy winter wedding during storm-watching season, or bring in the colour like Courtney and Eric did in the photos below last August! Check out Bethany and Kendall’s wedding at the Black Rock too.
