Alex and Gabriel's magical sunset proposal in Tofino
Today I’m so excited to share a very special Tofino sunset proposal from this summer.
A few weeks before a big trip he had planned to the West Coast with his girlfriend Alex, Gabriel reached out to me to see if I’d be interested in photographing the big moment: he was going to propose! He was envisioning it happening at sunset on the beach in Tofino; right away I was all in! We planned out all the sneaky details so that it would all be a complete surprise for Alex. A few weeks later, I found myself sitting on a rock on Chesterman Beach in Tofino pretending to be a tourist with a fancy camera, casually admiring the scenery.
The proposal was such a beautiful moment and I was so lucky to get to capture it! Alex was totally shocked but absolutely stoked. After the proposal, we did a mini engagement session around Chesterman, chasing the sunset across the beach. Engagement sessions are always happy occasions, but when they immediately follow the proposal it’s next-level joy. I barely had to direct or prompt these two; they were beaming the entire time as you’ll see in these photos.
