Some weddings are just pure joy from start to finish. Joshua and Stefan’s wedding was exactly that: a relaxed, dog-friendly celebration on the coast that perfectly captured who they are.
Held in August at Stefan’s family’s gorgeous oceanfront estate near Nanaimo, the day was everything a summer wedding should be: warm, welcoming, and full of happy tears. The property overlooked the water, giving the whole celebration that laid-back West Coast energy you can only get when the ocean’s right there in the background.
And then, there was Wilbur, their dachshund, sidekick, and undeniable star of the day. He trotted between guests like he owned the place (which, to be fair, he kind of did), popped up in photos whenever he felt like it, and soaked up every ounce of attention. I took Stefan and Joshua’s engagement photos when Wilbur was just a wee puppy 8 months prior to their wedding day.
As the sun set, speeches (during which we were all sobbing) turned into full-on party mode. Joshua and Stefan had everyone on the dance floor — no exceptions.
It was personal, joyful, and effortlessly fun!
