Last weekend, I met up with this sweet family to get some lifestyle newborn photos of baby Weston. I’ve be so in love with lifestyle family sessions lately. Although I am excited to have mountains and the ocean as my backdrop in British Columbia, there’s just something so comforting and real about having your home be the background for your images. It almost becomes a family member in itself. Besides, how could I not include a nursery that perfect in the photos?! I love getting detail shots of nurseries; I want you to remember every little thing long after it transitions to a big kid bedroom.
Of course, in lifestyle photography fashion, I made sure to get lots of images with mom and dad as well as big sister India (and Andy the family dog, who loved posing for me). After the session, Lauren told me she was glad we were able to work Andy into the photos. I think it’s so important for the whole family to be involved, including pets. (Not to mention, I love animals and especially dogs so I will try to work them into your photos anyway!)
My favourite part of the shoot was when India and I were taking some photos in the master bedroom while Weston and Lauren were in the other room. I was petting Andy when India said, “Be very careful of my dog! He bites!” I could hear Lauren yell from the other room something along the lines of “He does not!” Meanwhile, Andy (the sweetest dog ever) sat patiently waiting for his next photo.
I hope you enjoy these photos! Click here to book a lifestyle session of your own.
